Greene County Extension has rescheduled the Dec. 4 private pesticide applicator training to Thursday, Feb. 25. Persons who previously registered for that date have been rescheduled to a February date.
The following dates available for private pesticide applicator virtual training:

PPAT will also be done Tuesday, March 9, at 6:30 pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds, Clover Hall.
Preregistration is required, and space is limited. Attendees should plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to ensure they are properly registered to receive credit for the training. No late entrants will be admitted. Snacks and refreshments will be provided by Home State Bank.
This training is for any private agricultural crop producers in the state of Iowa who apply restricted-use pesticide on property they own or rent. Those applicators in Greene County who are currently certified will receive a brochure in the mail about the event. Attendees should bring the brochure to any of the training, as it contains their certification number, which is required to receive credit for attending. Persons who cannot locate their brochure should bring their most updated license, which includes the certification number.
New private pesticide applicators not yet certified with the State of Iowa will not be able to receive credit at this training, but must first take an exam administered by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. A study guide for the test and more information about testing sites are available at the Extension office. A test is also required for any applicator who missed their training last year. Persons who take and pass the test are certified for three years without needing to attend other courses during that time. After those three years, persons may attend these trainings annually to maintain certification.
